I burned a .mpg to a cd-rw, it plays fine on the pc. But when I play it on the dvd play for the tv. The frames keep scrolling very fast verticaly. I've burned others and never had a problem. This is a first. CAN ANYONE HELP ME I REALLY WANT THIS VIDEO>
Make sure that the frame rate and resolution are correct for the TV format you have.
For example if you have an NTSC TV then your VCD should be 29.97 fps and 352x240, SVCD should be 29.97 and 480x480.
>Make sure that the frame rate and resolution are correct for the TV format you have
yep i agree, that too
>Also make sure that you "authored it" to make it a VCD, SVCD, or DVD (what ever your video format is).
i dont think, in fact im sure thats not the problem as he wouldnt get any playback at all if he hadnt authored it, as the dvd player wouldnt recognise the disc
i just tested some ntsc discs (vcd&svcd) on one of my pal only tv's, and i cant notice any distortion, all i can notice is minimal loss off sharpness and colour. so i really dont know if thats ur problem. this probably doesnt help you in anyway but it could save ur ass some time (re-encoding)
If you have selected the SVCD template then that is the correct resolution.
When you play it in a software or hardware DVD player it will automatically be stretched to the right size.
DO NOT use Mediaplayer for MPEG2 or SVCD. It will NOT respect the aspect ratio's.
I have a half hour long mpeg film which I can play on my computer but would love to play it on my DVD player. I assume it has to be converted to a different format such as a vcd.
yea ur close - avi wont play on most dvd players ull need to encode it to svcd or vcd its best to encode the audio and video seperatley (stops lots of conflicts)
make sure when you encode it if your in the EU convert it to PAL or in the USA convert it to NTSC so they play on dvd..
I have TMPGEnc plus and it work fine until I installed a full version of nero 6.3 or something else. When I encoded an avi to mpeg file for vcd using TMPGEnc, I found on playback with TMPGEnc or other players like wmp9, the play time freezes. In other word, if the movie is 30 min, the play time goes to 20 min and stop but the movie continue to play so I would not know the actual length of the movie. Also, editing a mpg with TMPGEnc no longer work properly.
I wonder if there some conflict between TMPGEnc plus and nero 6.3(full version)? If yes, is there a workaround? The free version of nero without the mpg2 encoder has no problem with TMPGEnc plus.
What are the best options to set in TMPEGenc Plus to get the highest quality MPEG1 640X480 video? File size and encoding time is unlimited.
I get confused with VBR, CBR, etc. I think the answer is VBR 2 pass. However, then I am confused as to what to set as minimum, average, and maximum bit rate. My footage is coming from a 3CCD Mini DV camera (AVI), so I think a minimum bit rate of 3000, average of 4000, and max of 5000 would be sufficient. However I still see artifacts in my results when played back in Media Player. Can anyone offer some tips for creating higher quality MPEG1's?
Well...no answers from anyone, but some searching in the archives showed that people using the CQ setting seemed to be getting better results than VBR two pass. I tried it, and WOW. It is much better, artifacts and blockiness are almost completely gone. Good file size too.
Hi,
I have problems converting xvid videos in TMPGEnc. I want to burn these movies into a DVD-R. I have the newest Xvid codec, but it keeps saying that the file is unsupported. Does anyone else have this problem? I tried searching on the forum, but none of the answers in the searchresults could help me fix the problem. Can anyone help me with this?
TMPGEnc CAN read XViD. All you have to do is to raise the priority of the DirectShow-VFAPI-PlugIn as descriped many often here.
An other Way is to use AVISynth or VirtualDub as Frameserver.
I'm trying to turn my xvid file into an mpg/dvd file. I followed the tutorial but when it gets to the last screen, bitrate settings, at the top it says the movie is 241 minutes when it is less than 2 hours... it won't let me drop the disk capacity % below 141.63%. Any idea why it is doing this? It's an NTSC 16x9 file and that is what i selected at the beginning of the wizard. I can't convert it to DVD because i can't get past this part. Thanks in advance!
VBR-Audio, that's the Problem. Use Advanced -> Source Range to set the Correct Ending-Ponit of the Video.
The better Way is to use VirtualDub to demux and convert the Audio-Part to WAV first.
Search the Board here, it's a often asked question.
Sadly, it is often asked, and usually answered in a very surly fashion. If its that common, they need to put it in the FAQ. The search engine output is godawful when you try to do a search. It shoots text salad out.
I was wondeing if its possible to rotate the video 90 degrees to the right that way when i convet my music vidoes and whatnot i can take full advatnge of the side of my screen on my cell phone
When i got into settings/audio in the drop down menu for channel mode there is no option for Mono , just stereo, dual channel and join stereo . How do i get Mono set ????
Thanks
any type of video I try to convert: mpg, wma, avi (several types), etc.. it will not work. I get a error message: "Read error occurred at address 00402F40 of module 'TMPGENC.EXE with 20656850". It worked fine before when I had the older version then one day it crashed then I tried the newer version (over lap and fresh install)and it still does it. I have a funny feeling it might be a dll or something (out of date or something) or reg entry currupted. but I don't know were to start. any help to help me trace it down would be greatly appreciated... Also direct show is the highest priorty setting. Again thx 4 any help.
fixed it. I found a post that said the put a fresh copy of TMPGENC.exe so I re installed a fresh copy of that execution file and it works. Why the older version and this one both caused the same thing? Probably both downloads went sour. What are the possabilities of that happening back to back. thx if u were considering answering anyway! :)
